Jukai

In 2014, Thempra established an artistic collaboration with the group JUKAI, aka Marta Fumagalli e Riccardo Pirovano, to emphasize the brand’s artistic inclination. Since 2011, JUKAI has been pursuing a research aimed at the creation of large installations of pruning branches, that are given a new life. With this creative act, the artists take possession of particular places, sometimes in an overbearing way, with 'living architectures' built by assembling and weaving together hundreds of pruning branches.
JUKAI’s artworks act as a catalyst of processes aimed at giving places a new identity. This is not a formal or conceptual intervention, but a process, taking place in space and time. The place and its characteristics determine the action; the forces and tensions between materials and the space subtly alter architectures. JUKAI’s sinuous installations are in harmony with the thinking and aesthetics of Thempra collection: they are dynamic structures characterized by curvy shapes, that break down barriers between the artwork and nature.
